The 2012 Annual Meeting of the SSBE will be held at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) on August 27th – 28th, 2012. The meeting brings together academic and corporate researchers throughout Switzerland from diverse fields of Biomedical Engineering. Membership in the society, while encouraged, is not required, so please inform your colleagues.

The goal of the meeting is to provide an overview of the current state of Biomedical Engineering in Switzerland and to offer an environment for a productive exchange between participants. The meeting will follow our long-standing and successful format, which combines invited lectures by industry and research leaders with presentations of new research results from our Society's younger members.

Abstracts may be submitted in a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to: Bioimaging, Biomaterials, Biomechanics, Biomedical Signal Processing, Drug Delivery, Diagnostics, Medical Optics, Medical Physics, Rehabilitation Engineering, Smart Implants, Surgical Planning and Navigation, Tissue Engineering. Online submission is open, with a submission deadline of August 10th.

Further details are available on the meeting webpage (http://ssbe.epfl.ch).

The SSBE provides funding to cover the meeting fee for participants (max. 5) with limited financial means. To apply for this fee waiver, please send an e-mail to sferguson@ethz.ch with a short CV and a clear justification for your request to waive the fee.
